Siemens Workshop
On 19 December 2023, OpenSwarm members of Siemens AG Germany have met for a hands-on workshop at the Siemens Campus in Erlangen. The team worked on practical concepts for setting up a use case, in which devices communicate with each other in an autonomous, collaborative manner. Therefore, a new preliminary and lightweight version of the Siemens Coaty [1] framework, the Data Distribution Agent (DDA) [2], has been developed. In today’s workshop, the integration of the DDA in low-power networks, which rely for example on the 6TiSCH stack , has been evaluated. The goal is to enable the benefits offered by the DDA also on constrained devices, such as the AIOT Play [3] designed by Inria. Different setups have been tested and challenges arising with the DDA integration have been identified.
