IETF 123 in Madrid

As part of the standardization efforts of the OpenSwarm consortium, Inria researchers Elsa Lopez Perez, Geovane Fedrecheski, Malisa Vucinic, and Yuxuan Song attended the IETF-123 meeting in Madrid, Spain. The meeting included an intense and fun weekend hackathon, presentations on IETF draft updates, and several side meetings. 

 

Key highlights include:

 

Elsa successfully executed interoperability tests of EDHOC-PSK (implementations from Inria and University of Murcia interoperated) 

– Geovane integrated Zero-Touch Security with the Micro-robot Access Radio Infrastructure (Mari), also presenting it during the demo session 

– Malisa co-chaired the LAKE-WG meeting, steering the efforts towards the emerging interest in post-quantum security for constrained environments 

– Yuxuan wrote and submitted a position paper to the IEEE CSCN 2025, and presented her draft to the RATS working group 

 

Of course, participants also presented updates on the IETF drafts they are leading:

– EDHOC Authenticated with Pre-Shared Keys (PSK) 

– Lightweight Authorization using EDHOC (ELA) 

– Protecting EST Payloads with OSCORE 

– Remote attestation over EDHOC
